Show Producer Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI)
Susan Bonds is the show producer for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) responsible for the Indiana Jones(tm) Adventure, a ground breaking new thrill ride that opened at Disneyland on March 3, 1995.
For over three years, Bonds has had key responsibility on the Indiana Jones Adventure Project Team for the attraction's story development, ride layout, design, production and implementation, as well as all show elements including special effects, video production, animation, audio design, show lighting, show set design and on-board vehicle performance.In addition, she oversees print and video production for the Park's promotional materials for the new adventure and works closely with Lucasfilm Ltd., creator of the Indiana Jones film trilogy.
Bonds originally joined The Walt Disney Company in 1980 working at WDI-Florida as an industrial engineer, contributing to the show/ride systems of such EPCOT pavilions as World of Motion, The Land and Journey Into Imagination.
In 1984, she joined Lockheed Aeronautical Systems as an aircraft engineer in New Business Development, and later worked as development manager in System Engineering for Advanced Development Projects.
Bonds returned to Imagineering in early 1990 as project manager for "The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter," the chilling centerpiece to New Tomorrowland at the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom. Later that year, she was asked to join the Indiana Jones Adventure Team as project manager, charged with defining the attraction's scope and budget. She was promoted to her current role in 1993.
Bonds has an industrial and systems engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, an M.B.A. from Georgia State University and is a member of the American Association of Industrial Engineers.
Bonds was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She now makes her home in Glendale.
